Victims of rape
Night scene at the top end of Kawangware Street, the most notorious street for rapes. Since the installation of the flood light further down in December 2012, a joint initiative of the Kenya Government and Safaricom who pay the electricity fee, the incidences of rape have been reduced.
This image is from a series focusing on and around the rape and the women victims that occur every half a day in Mugumoini Village in Nairobi's Southlands, a slum home to 20,000 people in abject poverty with little or no income, with the aim of creating exposure and empowerment for change. ©GGoodwin
